NABTEB releases May/June 2017 results

THE National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released results of the May/June 2017 NABTEB examinations with 58.75 per cent scoring credits and above in Mathematics and English Language. Registrar/Chief Executive of NABTEB, Prof (Mrs) Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, disclosed this Tuesday while briefing journalists at NABTEB’s headquarters in Benin. She said out of the total number of 57,387 candidates that sat for the May/June 2017 NABTEB examination, 33,712 candidates scored five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics and that 47,360 candidates, representing 82.53 percent, candidates scored five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics. Representing 82.53% in the National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate examinations while only 1,905 candidates were involved in examination malpractice representing 3.26% of the total number that sat for the examinations. "Nigeria can't be Fixed by God" says - Fmr. President Obasanjo

Former President  Olusegun Obasanjo  on Saturday has said that God could not  fix Nigeria  except Nigerians invite God into their lives collectively and individually. “ We have a lot of things wrong with this country, if all Nigerians are sincere. Nigeria can be fixed by God but we have to invite Him into our lives. What we have to do about this country is in our hands. “Gods grace abounds when we do not abuse it,” he said. Obasanjo made this remark during the 2017 Camp Meeting Concert by Apostolic Faith Church Choir and Orchestral at the Camp Ground Igbesa in Ogun. He also said that Christians should be prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ  as the end of the world is near. “ Our country’s shoulders will be raised high among the comity of nations. All Nigerians , irrespective of religion , should pray for the resurrection of what our nation has lost. “Nigerians should remain patient in the face of political and religious intolerance, insecurity and economic hardships.

A slim teenager in China got her entire leg stuck in a storm drain while walking and texting. The girl who is still unnamed was paying rapt attention to her mobile phone while walking down the street in Mianyang City, in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. While she was busy texting a friend, she wasn’t paying attention to the pavement and when she stepped on a drain, her slim leg went right through the bars putting her left foot in a tight wedge. A good Samaritan had to call the fire brigade before she could be rescued after a 45-minute wait. Fire brigade spokesman Ming Lai said: “We managed to remove the bars and quickly freed her once we arrived at the scene. Her leg was a bit scratched and bruised and numb from being squeezed through the bars, but she quickly recovered and did not need hospital treatment.” An witness at the scene of the incident who gave her name as Jun Niu said “She was more embarrassed than anything else, she covered her face up with her hands when people wer
