Oyo State shuts down Emmanuel Alayande College

Oyo State government on Friday
announced the indefinite closure of
the Emmanuel Alayande College of
Education, Oyo, following violent
protest by students over their
welfare.

The state Commissioner for
Education, Science and Technology,
Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, announced
the closure in a statement issued in
Ibadan, the state capital.

The statement directed students to
vacate the school premises
immediately, while law enforcement
agents have been enjoined to secure
lives and government property in the
college.

__

According to the Commissioner, the
college would remain closed until
normalcy returns.
